IN January of 2018,

Project Silence No More was formally launched by 4 members of the JHS class of 2015- Marcus Miller, Tristan Coldrake, Luke Johnston, and Kelsey Caffrey- as a response to the struggles the Johnston community has faced with suicide. This group of individuals knew this problem is not one that could be faced in silence, and so they set out on a mission to normalize the conversation around mental health, depression, and suicide. PSNM is an organization that was founded by, and will continue to be run by recent JHS graduates, which is why in the fall of 2019 these four co-founders decided to step down from their board positions as they entered post-undergraduate life to allow for a new generation of leaders. Team PSNM is incredibly grateful for everything these individuals have done, and we are proud to continue their legacy.

Meet the Co-Founders

Tristan Coldrake graduated from the University of Iowa in 2019 after majoring in Finance and Management with a minor in Psychology. He is currently a risk and compliance associate for Wells Fargo in West Des Moines, where he plans to work for at least the next two years. He is currently living in Waukee and hopes to coach soccer there soon. Tristan is actually a dual citizen of both the USA and Australia, so he would like to wish you a G’Day, Mate!

Marcus Miller graduated from the University of Iowa in December of 2018 with degrees in Political Science and Ethics & Public Policy, and he is currently studying at Harvard Law School with the hopes of one day being a trial lawyer. When he’s not exploring the intersections of race and class in the criminal justice system, he enjoys running and playing tennis. A true mock trial junkie, Marcus looks forward to coaching and judging the next generation of lawyers after graduation. While his formal involvement with PSNM has come to a close, he is still passionate about mental health and looks forward to the day when visiting a therapist for depression is no different than seeing a physician about the flu.

Kelsey Caffrey graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in December of 2018 with a major in Kinesiology and a minor in Child Psychology. She currently lives in Edina, Minnesota, where she works as a full time nanny and supervisor in the Kid’s Academy at Lifetime Fitness. In her free time she enjoys running, and completed two marathons during college.

Luke Johnson graduated in June of 2019 from the University of Denver after majoring in Economics and minoring in Spanish and Entrepreneurship. He is PlattPointe Capitol, a commercial real estate finance startup in Denver, Co specializing in structured debt and equity. Luke once famously said “my favorite smell is wet rocks”, so we wish him many rainy days in Colorado.
